About the Exhibit
Give Me Liberty examines the growing movement toward independence in colonial America and the people who challenged British authority in the years leading up to the Revolution. Through engaging displays visitors will discover how ordinary citizens and influential leaders alike helped shape the nation's founding.
As the home county of Revolutionary leaders Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee, Westmoreland County played an important role in the movement for American independence. This exhibit helps tell that story and connect local history to the broader American experience.
