Message from the Director

Coleman Courtney
Westmoreland County has always been a place where history is not just remembered but lived, preserved, and passed forward. The Westmoreland County Museum exists to honor that legacy and to ensure that the stories of our people, our land, and our role in shaping the nation remain accessible to all.
As Executive Director, I am deeply grateful for the community that surrounds and supports this museum. From longtime members and donors to new visitors, volunteers, and partners, your engagement allows us to care for our collections, expand educational programming, and continue meaningful preservation work. Every visit, membership, and contribution helps us protect the stories that make Westmoreland County unique.
In the months ahead, we are focused on strengthening our exhibits, expanding opportunities for learning and discovery, and preparing for important milestones in our shared history. We invite you to be part of that work by attending an event, volunteering your time, supporting restoration efforts, or simply stopping in to explore the museum.
History belongs to everyone. Thank you for helping us preserve it, share it, and keep it alive for future generations.
