Congratulations

In March, Montross achieved Historic District Designation by the Department of Historic Resources (DHR). It's been a multi-year process, but we enjoyed working with everyone at DHR. A big thank you to Debra McClane, Marc Wagner, Elizabeth Hoge Lipford and the rest of the team for all their hard work. More information is available by clicking the Historic Courthouse photo above or clicking here: https://www.dhr.virginia.gov/historic-registers/263-5038/

Also, we want to thank the DHR for all their work to recognize the contributions of the African-American watermen to the seafood industries of Virginia's Chesapeake Bay. Thank you to Ashlen Stump for working with us and all the dedicated contributors to this project. More information is available here: https://www.dhr.virginia.gov/historic-registers/500-0007/

Thank you for this anonymous donation of three antique hand-crafted, hand-woven ladderback chairs, milk jug (not pictured) and rocking chair (not pictured).

We would like to thank the following people for their contributions to our Women's History program:

Thanks to Susan Ripol and Dave Milne for helping with the refreshments.

Thanks to Kathryn Wittman for donating the tablecloths.
